What To Expect

When choosing a puppy from Over The Moon Mini Ranch, we want you to know what to expect. Each parent of the puppies is chosen carefully selected for the breeding program. We focus on health and temperament. Our goal is that every puppy who becomes part of a new family will be welcomed as a beloved member and a wonderful companion.

      HEALTH TESTING
  • The parents undergo DNA health testing with Embark to ensure they receive a healthy puppy. The DNA health testing provided by Embark gives both breeders and future pet owners peace of mind, knowing that they are taking steps to promote the well-being of the puppies from the very beginning. We ensure that our puppy parents have the proper testing and that our studs have all  OFA certifications.

       GUARANTEE

PROACTIVE FOR THE FUTURE OF YOUR DOGS
  • We prioritize the well-being of our puppies by utilizing Dr. Carmen Battaglia's Early Neurological Stimulation method and performing desensitization exercises at 3 days old. Our commitment to the health and happiness of our puppies goes beyond just basic care. By applying Dr. Carmen Battaglia's Early Neurological Stimulation method, we aim to give them the best start in life possible. This approach helps to stimulate their neurological pathways and encourages healthy development from the very beginning. As they grow and start to explore the world around them, we also introduce desensitization exercises to help them become well-adjusted and confident individuals. These exercises help them adapt to various stimuli and experiences, ultimately shaping them into well-rounded and resilient companions for their future families.

       USE OF GUARDIAN HOMES

  • Each parent lives in their guardian home alongside their chosen families, emphasizing the development of well-rounded personalities rather than being kept in shared enclosures or grouped. This innovative housing approach provides a nurturing and tailored setting for our parents. By residing in dedicated guardian homes with selected families, each parent can thrive, promoting personal growth and fostering diverse characteristics. This environment encourages a sense of belonging and intimacy, moving away from the conventional practice of housing parents in communal enclosures. Through this intentional setup, our goal is to nurture strong connections and create a family environment where every parent can flourish. Once they are finished nurturing their litter, they go home to the family they have always known.n

      ONLY GRADE A FOODS GIVEN

  • The Dam and Sire are given premium dog food, rather than typical supermarket brands, to guarantee the puppies have the best start possible.  Their diet consists of high-quality ingredients that provide essential nutrients for their overall health and well-being. This careful selection of premium dog food ensures that the Dam and Sire are in optimal condition to pass on strong genetics to their puppies. By nourishing them with top-notch nutrition, the puppies are set up for a healthy beginning, giving them the best possible chance to grow into happy and thriving dogs.

       IN HOME BIRTH

  • All puppies are born indoors, which is crucial for their health and socialization. The parents are considered indoor family members and only venture outside for playtime or bathroom breaks. This indoor environment provides a safe and controlled space for the puppies to grow and develop their social skills. It also allows the parents to closely monitor and care for their young ones, ensuring they are healthy and happy. When it's time for the puppies to explore the great outdoors, they do so under our watchful eyes, learning and experiencing new sights and sounds in a secure and loving environment.

      SOCIALIZATION

  • Every puppy will receive ample socialization and will be oriented towards people. Exposing them to everyday sounds and activities in a household is crucial. The goal is to ensure that nothing comes as a surprise when they transition to their new permanent home. This early exposure will help the puppies grow up to be well-adjusted and confident companions. By introducing them to various sights, sounds, and experiences, they will be more adaptable and comfortable in different environments. This socialization process is essential in shaping their behavior and helping them develop into happy and resilient dogs. Ultimately, the effort put into their upbringing now will pave the way for a smooth transition and a strong bond with their future families.

       NOISE DESENSITATION

  • Once their senses are awakened, we introduce loud fireworks, sirens, banging, and other noises to help them acclimate to the external environment from the nursery. The booming fireworks, along with other sounds, act as an exciting gateway to the world outside the nursery boundaries. By encountering these new sensory experiences, the puppies learn to comprehend and adjust to the diverse sounds they will encounter in their daily routines. This exposure aids in fostering their self-assurance and adaptability as they mature and discover their surroundings. Gradually, they develop the ability to explore the world with inquisitiveness and bravery, replacing fear with a readiness to embrace the adventures that lie ahead.

        FULL TAILS

  • We do not dock tails in any of our puppies, nor do we support the practice. You will find that our pups come with full beautiful tails.

       WHEN PUPPY SELECTION OCCURS

  • Selection will be determined by the order in which deposits are received and will take place after 7 weeks. This timeline provides us, at Over The Moon Mini Ranch, with sufficient time to evaluate the temperament and service capabilities of each dog. Upon completing the assessment, we will notify individuals of their dog's results in sequential order, enabling them to make well-informed decisions.

At Over The Moon Mini Ranch, we understand the importance of finding the perfect match between        our dogs and their future families. We believe that this process of evaluation not only benefits our            dogs but also ensures that they find loving and caring homes where they can thrive. Throughout              the 7 weeks, our dedicated team will carefully assess each dog's temperament and service                      capabilities, taking into consideration their unique personalities and needs.

Once the assessment is complete, we will notify individuals in the order in which their deposits were        received. This transparent approach allows everyone involved to make well-informed decisions              based on the specific results of each dog. We are committed to making this process as smooth             and informative as possible so that both our dogs and their new families can embark on a                       wonderful journey together.

       SHEDDING

  • We understand your desire for a puppy that doesn't shed. While many doodles meet this requirement, it's important to be aware that shedding could still occur in some dogs due to their lineage. Genetic characteristics from grandparents may occasionally manifest. Based on our findings, shedding may happen in the undercoat and get tangled in the curls, thus giving the impression that they do not shed, but regular brushing can help manage this. We don't assert that all doodles are entirely non-shedding, but there is a clear difference for dogs without the poodle gene.

      CRATES

  • We introduce the puppies, while in the nursery, to crates. Allowing them to explore and sleep in them with the doors open at first, and then enclosing them for a short nap. This will begin your puppy's journey into feeling safe with a crate. We do NOT condone leaving your pet in a crate for long periods of time. Your job is to train them to be a part of your family and not use the crate as a crutch but as a tool for security for short periods. While many people choose not to use a crate, we feel it's best to acclimate them for the times they may need a crate. For instance, at a grooming facility.

      POTTY TRAINING

  • We introduce them to potty training,  Please keep in mind that many are not fully potty trained until they are about 16 weeks. This is due to their inability to hold it sometimes. We want to give you a head start. Once they go home, you must continue taking them outside very often.

       SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

  • During the puppy health check, no puppy birthed by us comes into contact with the floor at the vet's office. We carry them in and sanitize the table ourselves before placing the puppy on it. When leaving the vet, we remove our shoes before entering the car and store them in a zip-lock bag to prevent any dog viruses from entering the nursery. Ensuring the health and safety of our puppies is our top priority. We go above and beyond to minimize any risks of exposure to harmful pathogens. By taking these extra precautions during vet visits, we aim to provide the best possible care for our beloved furry friends. Our commitment to their well-being extends beyond our facilities, demonstrating our dedication to raising healthy and happy puppies.

We take precautions with visitors as well. While we do allow visitors to meet the puppies after their            first shots at 6 weeks old, we take necessary measures. Our goal is to avoid any potential risks of              visitors introducing anything harmful to your little ones. Therefore, we kindly ask all visitors to sanitize        their hands before and after interacting with the puppies. This simple step helps us maintain a                  clean and safe environment for our precious puppies. Additionally, we request that visitors refrain    .        from bringing any outside items or pets into the puppy area to prevent any possible contamination.        Your cooperation in following these guidelines ensures that our puppies stay healthy and happy as        they grow and prepare to find their forever homes. Thank you for understanding and helping us              prioritize the well-being of our adorable furry friends.

       GOING HOME

  • Puppies are ready to go to their new homes at 8 weeks after receiving their initial shots and learning essential skills from their mother.  Transitioning from their mother to their new home can be a big change for the puppies, so it's important to be patient and understanding as they adjust to their new surroundings. During this time, it's recommended to continue socializing the puppies, introducing them to different people, environments, and experiences to help them grow into well-rounded and confident dogs. Positive reinforcement training techniques can be utilized to teach them basic commands and good behavior. Each puppy is unique and may have different needs. so it's essential to pay attention to their personalities and provide them with the care and attention they require. Creating a loving and supportive environment can help your new furry family member thrive and become a beloved part of your home.
